Micro bond refers to an approach using small strands and bonds. Keratin describes the bonding material in some extension systems. These are not mutually exclusive categories. A strand’s weight of 0.40 g or 0.80 g alone does not define the method; the material and application technique should be explained separately.

Different salons may use these names for different applications. The name alone does not guarantee a particular technique or material. It is more useful to ask about the bond structure, extension hair, application plan and aftercare requirements.

An individual plan may be possible for some fine hair, but strand thickness alone does not determine suitability. Density, delicate areas, existing damage and the amount of natural hair in each bond are assessed together.

Your natural hair needs to be able to cover the bonds and blend with the extensions. Suitability depends on more than length in centimetres: your cut, density and desired length are assessed during consultation.

Unsuitable weight or tension, incorrect application, inadequate care or improper removal can damage hair. That is why assessment, a balanced application plan and regular follow-up matter. We do not promise zero risk with any extension application.

Micro bond extensions are a cosmetic service that adds length and fullness through extra hair. They do not treat hair loss or speed up natural hair growth. Active hair loss or scalp concerns should be assessed by a specialist first.

We assess your current density, desired length and fullness at the ends together. Total weight and the number of bonds measure different things. We determine the amount suited to you during your hair assessment.

No. Strand weights such as 0.20, 0.40, 0.60 or 0.80 g may be used in areas assessed as suitable. These are examples from individual application plans, not a universal weight or safety threshold.

The count alone is not enough. For example, 100 × 0.80 g and 200 × 0.40 g give the same total hair weight mathematically. That does not mean the number of bonds, the work involved or the price will be the same.

The time depends on the quantity of hair, number of bonds, preparation, cutting and any additional services. At your consultation, we explain the expected duration alongside your application plan.

Colour, texture and length are chosen together. Cutting and styling also affect the blend. Our aim is to bring the extensions together with your natural hair; we explore suitable options during consultation.

Visibility depends on your hair density, placement, bond shape and how you wear your hair up. We consider natural coverage in the plan. It would not be accurate to guarantee invisibility from every angle and with every hairstyle.

Suitable hairstyles depend on placement and your natural hair density. Avoid pulling your hair tightly. Tell us how you usually wear it during your consultation so we can consider this in the plan.

Follow the care instructions for your chosen hair and bonding system. Rinsing after salt or chlorine exposure, gentle detangling and drying are important. Mention your holiday plans at your consultation.

A colour service should only be carried out after assessing the intended process and the properties of the extension hair. Lightening in particular may affect the hair and bonds. Discuss your colour plans with your stylist first.

Follow the heat tolerance and care instructions for your extension hair. Do not apply heat directly to the bonds. Use the advised temperatures and protective products.

Make sure your hair and bonds are dry before bed. Use the recommended loose hairstyle to help reduce tangling. Contact us if you experience pain, noticeable pulling or persistent discomfort.

Product and brush choices may vary with the hair and bonding system used. We share aftercare recommendations following application. Check the instructions before applying intensive conditioning products to the bonds.

Micro bond extensions are typically worn for 3–6 months. This can vary with your hair’s growth rate, the condition of the bonds and your care routine. We determine your individual check-up and refitting schedule during assessment and follow-up.

The same extension hair can typically be reused 2–4 times, depending on the quality range and how it is cared for. Before each refitting, we assess the condition of the hair and bonds to confirm whether it is suitable for reuse.

Pulling them out or using unsuitable products can damage your natural hair. Removal should be carried out professionally with products and a method suited to the bonding system.
